Technical Assistance

Certified Officials have access to Sport Manitoba’s Officials Development program through Manitoba Horse Council (MHC) and are eligible to apply for Technical Assistance.

Technical Assistance is available to Stewards, Judges, Course Designers, and Technical Delegates of Equine Canada, Provincial, or Equine Canada Apprentice status.

Technical Assistance funding of 2 different types is accessible to Officials: High Performance Assistance and Travel Assistance. Officials accessing funding must be up-to-date on all mandatory requirements (annual Equine Canada Officials levy, MHC membership, etc).

For more information and an application form please contact the MHC office. There is a limited number of Technical Assistance applications accepted by Sport Manitoba per year; as such, all Officials’ applications are first approved by MHC’s Officials Committee.

Regional Travel Assistance

Additional Travel Assistance Grants are provided by the Sport Manitoba Community Development or Regional offices.

These grants are to assist with travel expenses incurred by officials when travelling within the province for Seminars, Conferences, or a Certification course. (Eg. Travel from Brandon, MB to Winnipeg, MB for a valid Officials Course).

To apply for Regional Travel Assistance, contact the MHC Office. If approved by MHC, the application is sent to the Regional Sport Manitoba Office in which area the applicant resides (Eg. A Brandon, MB resident’s application would be sent to the Westman office).
