Manitoba Horse Council is pleased to again offer its Manitoba Equestrian Championship (East vs. West). 2010 will be the 2nd year this exciting event is put on by MHC. This event offers a unique opportunity for athletes to compete in a team format alongside and against those from other equestrian disciplines.

Fomerly called the Multi-Discipline Team Championship -- note the name change -- the Manitoba Equestrian Championship will be held September 25-26, 2010 at the MHC Equestrian Centre in Birds Hill Park with Team Eastman defending its title.

The Manitoba Equestrian Championship is open to equestrians involved in a variety of select disciplines; all competitors of any age involved in these disciplines are encouraged to register. Read on for the list of included disciplines this year and for registration forms. REGISTER NOW!

The Manitoba Equestrian Championship will once again be run in a Nations Cup format, with the top registrants from each discipline in their chosen division (eg. 3'6" Jumpers) qualifying for either Team Eastman or Team Westman, dependant upon place of residence. Most disciplines will have an option of two division in which to register. Two (2) of the top registrants selected per discipline/division will be alternates and four (4) will make the Team.

Team selection is based on results attained in competition by the registrant throughout the year. Results can date back to January 1, 2010, until the final competition of the season.

Riders/drivers selected to take part in the final competition will join team members from a variety of other equestrian disciplines to make up one Team Eastman, and one Team Westman to vie for the title of Manitoba Champion.
