Recent Changes to English Coach Updating Hours Requirements As you may already know, Equine Canada requires ALL certified coaches to complete 20 hours of Professional Development every 3 years. This has worked well, but is currently operating on more of an honor system. The resources required to keep track of these hours by the Manitoba Horse Council office are numerous, and also often requires coaches to piece together their hours. Additionally, it is expected that professional development is something all Coaches should do on their own in order to keep their ideas fresh. Effective April 1 2010, NCCP/EC Coaches in Manitoba will be required to attend 1 (one) provincially hosted Professional Development/Update Clinic every 3 years. These updates will focus specifically on the Equine Canada Coaching Program changes and Rider Levels. Those coaches who completed 20 hours updating as per Equine Canadas standards by April 1 2010, will not be required to attend a Provincial Update for 3 years. Check back regularly for coming courses; information and registration forms will be posted here. Are you or your students interested in or need of a particular course?
